MAY FLOWERS, MOTHERS' DAY AND GRADUATIONS

To start the month off Riley and his girlfriend came and spent several hours with us.  It was a very pleasant time and we enjoyed them so much.  (no pictures)  I'm getting very sloppy at taking pictures.

Molly was able to finally have a prom at PG high.  Even Lily was able to go.  Finally schools are having more things that can be attended.  She was beautiful.  (sorry, didn't get a picture of Lily)

Sunday we had virtual Stake Conference and we now have a new stake presidency.  They will be so good but we will miss the ones we have had for 9 years.  President Gagen was released and President Blackwelder is our new one.

Monday, Clark brought us another bee hive so we are buzzin.

Clark and Jonny
Tuesday evening we enjoyed watching Rowan and Ava perform in a dance recital.  Rowan was so cute and Ava was amazing.

Wednesday we signed some papers because we are selling our 7 acres on Soldier Summit Estates mountain land.  We feel good about this and hope all will go well.

Thursday, Dad took Brother Cliff Bush fishing at Deer Creek.  He caught 3 beautiful 2 pound trout.  Cliff was so excited to go because it is very hard for him to get around.  They had a great time and Cliff also caught a fish.

Friday was a treat because Deb and Gary came for a visit.  We enjoyed an entire afternoon and shared such good memories.  We took them to Molly's for lunch.  I am so sorry but I did not take pictures.  I just don't remember.

Kolton and Camden came Saturday to mow our lawns.  They do such a good job and we love having them here.  They are so polite and fun to be around.  Our ministering brothers were here and they were so polite as they greeted them after they mowed.  Erik and Shanelle have done such a marvelous job rearing those 4 boys.  Somewhere in the day we watched Rowan in her soccer game.

Sunday was a wonderful Mother's Day.  We watched on TV and as usual the meeting was so tender and good.  Our favorite part was the primary children singing songs we had not heard.  They were so excited and cute.
I love Mother's Day.  I have the most perfect mother in the world.  She was always busy doing things for others and never acted like caring for a family was anything but joy.  She was always there for me and worked hard to keep our family together.  She was even my seminary teacher when we lived in Dayton, Ohio.  She got up at 4:00 in the mornings to be able to do breakfast and then go gather the students who lived very far from the church.(The church was a house in a neighborhood because we were a very small congregation.)  She was amazing.  I never heard her complain about anything.

George's mother was the same.  Always doing what she needed to make everyone comfortable and feeling important in her home.  I never heard her say anything negative about any of her children or their spouses.  She was a great story teller and we all loved it when she gathered us and shared experiences or stories.  She was grateful for everything loved to serve others.

We chose this picture because it is when she was on a mission in Guatemala with granddad.  She loved the children and they loved her.

The girls gave me a beautiful lavender bottle wind chime.  I love it.

Erik and Scotts families each gave me an enormous planter filled with beautiful red geraniums.  The present I liked best is the way each one of them love their families and each other.  I love tht they teach their children to love their Savior, Jesus Christ.  they thrill my heart and we love them so very much.  If we need anything they are there along with our grandchildren to help us.  We are so blessed.

That afternoon we went to Clark's for dinner.  Dianne always fixes a yummy meal.  Her parents were also there.  We love when we can get together.  It was a lovely time.  Ashley's family was also there with our 3 great grand children and we got the cutest homemade letters from the two boys.

How happy we are.  Hailey painted a picture of or entire family and framed it.  It is hanging in our living room and it is beautiful.  We love it.

We are so blessed to be the parents of these great, caring, and incredible people.

Monday, May 10th we signed the final papers to sell our mountain land.  It's a sad and a happy moment and we feel good about it.

I am forever a hang your clothes on the line and when I do I talk to the hens over the fence and they answer me.  We have quite an intelligent conversation.  When I finish I get on a stool and throw crumbs to them.  I love that they are on the other side of the fence.  There are many more but I just got these.

Friday, the 14th dad had an excellent visit with Dr. Hwang.  He is doing great.  That evening we went to Midway for Kaman Cook's reception.  Her family thinks that Bethany is just one of them.  They treat her as if she is.  We are so glad they include us in activities.  Bethany is blessed to have them in her life. The reception was one of the prettiest we have ever gone to.  It was in a beautiful valley with a huge pond and much grass.  The building was amazing.  It was just perfect.  Magleby's  catered it and there was live music and dancing.

We went to Rowan's soccer game and were greatly entertained.  She did 14 cartwheels and scored a goal.
Sunday was Molly's seminary graduation.  We were not able to attend because of Covid 19 but we could watch it.  The Zooming did not work well but she led the music and we saw half of her when the bishop called her name.  We are so proud of her for taking these classes every year and growing in her learning more of our savior and His gospel.

Thursday, the 20th, was Nixon's end of the year program.  It was done so well.  It was all done in music with actions and about being kind to everyone and helping each other.  We loved every song.  It was performed on a stage outside.
The next day was Ava's 6th Grade Graduation.  Again, it was an amazing program in an auditorium filled with students and parents.  The students were so sweet and polite as they did their thing.  Ava and Nixon are so blessed to attend such an incredible school, especially at the same time.  We were so impressed.

As usual the boys came Saturday to mow the lawn.  We have bought a new mower so they don't have to haul one from their house.  One mows the front while the other one mows the back.  They are just great young men and so fun to have around, darn good looking too.
Dad has been working very hard in his man cave to makes some decorations for our yard.  His latest has been these boys hanging from our trees.

Sunday Scott turned 42.  How can our baby be 42?  He is a very hard working man and always has a project in mind.  He is a master painter which he is always in demand.  He is a great husband and dad and loves to do things with his family.
He is always helping us do something.

Church this day was very energizing.  The speakers were so full of energy and kept us awake because they were so enthusiastic.  Even the hymns were familiar and sung right up to tempo.  It was just a great meeting especially since all could be there and not required to wear masks.  Relief Society and priesthood were held at the church for the first time in over a year.  What a great Sabbath.

Cameron also graduated from  seminary.  We have 3 graduating from seminary and are so proud of them.  Cameron is the one who had early morning seminary at 6:00.  Tiffani did not have to wake him up because he was always ready and happy to go.  The one on the left.

I finally finished the quilt I have been working on.
Monday, the 24th, Camden John Bayles turned 16.  What a super young man.  He always has a smile and is willing to do anything you ask him.  We love that he comes to mow our lawns.  He loves most everything and is always ready to help when needed.  He is also very good looking.
Tuesday, Scott came to help Dad hook up the trailer for our trip to Pine Valley with Tiff's ward and friends.

The announcements
Another quilt finished

Wednesday was Molly and Kolton's graduation from Pleasant Grove HS.  We were so excited until we heard that Kolton had a State semi-championship Lacrosse game at the same time as the graduation and would not be able to attend graduation. The graduation was in the Salt Lake Rio Tinto Soccer Stadium.  There were so any graduates that they had to hold it in a large place.  I was so upset that the game could not be at a different time because graduation is such an important event for our youth.  When the graduation music started, as usual, I started crying.
First for Molly who is so special and had done so well in school.  Next, that Kolton could not be there.  The graduation was so nice and very long because of the adult speakers.  When the names were all called we heard "Kolton Bayles".  There he was rushing in all dressed in his robe etc., then I really started crying.  They were so far ahead in the game that with it halfway in the last period they had Kolton leave.  The score was 29-6.  They were the State Champs.  What a great graduation gift.  The student body went crazy with clapping and yelling.  It was a dream come true.

                                                                             Kolton

Erik and Shanelle had a breakfast to celebrate Kolton and Molly's graduation.  Shanelle always goes way out with fun decorations and yummy food. Her parents had come from Washington for the graduation so it made it very special and we love her parents.

                                                                   Asher and Nixon
                                                                       proud mother

Making the announcement.  Ghana, Kamusi to begin September 15th. (I think)
We had already loaded out trailer and headed out for Pine 'Valley and camping with Tiff's family and her ward and friends.  We love to go to this camp.  We got there just in time for a tri tip dinner that was so good.  Tiff is a great camping cook.  The ward had reserved the entire camp site and decorated with signs and balloons etc. for the 3 graduates from the friendship or ward members and past members.
Del and Brigita had come for the day and stayed for a long time which was so fun.  They love the spot we camp in.
At the right moment the graduates walked from camp site to campsite and we all followed them as campers put leis of candy around their necks.  They were very heavy by the end.  It was so much fun to honor them as graduation in Vegas was very limited to family so we could not go.  We went to Veyo for yummy pies and huckleberry soda.

Sunday we had church at the pavilion and 2 returned sisters gave us an amazing lesson with "Come Follow Me"
The next day we packed up and headed home.
                                                                          Paul Bunyon
Because Granddad had eaten so much sugar he was very sick.  We almost stayed another night.  It's a four hour drive home and he rested several times.  At Cedar City we got gas and went to the restroom. About an hour down the road I had to go again so Dad pulled over at a rest stop to rest.  when we were ready to proceed he noticed we had a flat tire on the trailer.  We called Geico only to discover we weren't covered on the tires.  Over $4000 and we can't get a tire fixed.  We didn't know what to do when a trucker from Navajo Trucking noticed us and offered his help.  It took an hour and we were on our way again.  He was so nice and did all the work without a problem. How grateful we are for this kind man. A young man passing by also offered help.  We love living where we can trust strangers on the highway.
We headed on down the road but Dad had to stop at Yuba Lake and rest again.  He really looked bad.  The hardest part of the trip was when we got to Nephi the traffic came almost to a stop and it took us 2 hours instead of 35 minutes to get home.  It was horrible Memorial Day traffic.  We were so glad when we got home that we didn't even unload.
What a great trip with such beautiful mountains and wonderful people surrounding us.  It was a very peaceful time.  We certainly have so many blessings in abundance.
