APRIL SHOWERS BRING LDS GENERAL CONFERENCE

                                                                Our Easter  Egg Tree

We started this month with Tiffani turning 49 (We think)  She has always been a delight and fun to be around.  She loves the Lord and her family and shows it in so many ways.  She didn't graduate from college until 16 years after her marriage.  She wanted her children to know how important an education is.  She absolutely loves being a mother and doing anything with her family.  They do crazy things and have fun together.  They just returned from a week in Maui. She loves running with Titan, the dog.

Cannot find a picture of just her.

The next day Max and Ruth Seamons helped George haul 2 loads of fertilizer for our garden.  Max has an amazing truck with a bed lift.  He drives it right to the garden.  We loved being with them after such a long quarantine.  We went to Charlie's for a yummy Philly's Cheese stake lunch, which is a favorite of ours.

Saturday was so special because we spent the entire day watching General Conference, which was so filled with truth and the Spirit of our Savior.  How blessed we are to have a living prophet, Russell M. Nelson, who shares with us the blessings of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.  He is a man of God.  Every session was filled with inspiration and hope.

Sunday was the same; loaded with inspiration, wisdom, hope, faith and encouragement.  Nothing beats conference.  We always love the words of our prophets, seers and revelators.

Sunday was also Easter Sunday.  How wonderful to have Easter on Conference Sunday.  The weekend was filled with inspiration and blessings because of the knowledge we have of our Savior and His atonement and  resurrection so that we may repent and live as families for eternity.  We are so eternally grateful and blessed because of our family.   Here are some pictures of each family close to this date.

Kristin, David's and us in SC
                                                                 Part of Clark and Dianne's
Tiff and Dave's kids in Maui
                                                                 Erik and Shanelle's kids
Scotts and Bethany's at Disney World
Monday, the 5th, Clark and kids worked in our yard getting it ready for Spring.  Molly, Lily and Riley, spread the fertilizer over the garden.  Clark pruned the fruit trees and Jonny took down the jungle gym and the swing set because they were too old and dangerous.  They all worked very hard for 3 hours.

We can't remember when, but Lily won the election for a member on the 2022 student council at PG High.  We are so proud of her for even running for this position.

That afternoon we went to theSLC Fairfield Inn at the airport for the night because we had to get up at 4:00  to be at our 6:00 AM flight to South Carolina.  We like t do it that way because we just leave our car there and a shuttle takes us to the airport and picks us up when we get back and drops us off right at the car.
We had such a wonderful time with Kristin ad her family.
(Tuesday the Vegas kids got to go to class in their schools for the first time in 13 months.  This was

a big day and even though they love staying home with Titan, it was good to see friends.)

Wednesday the 7th we rented a larger car and drove to Capers Island dock.  We left at 5:00 so we could catch our guided boat.  It took about an hour to get to the island and all the way the guide told us about  life in the water and on the shores.  He also told about the history and the German U-boats during WW11.  We could see one of the towers.  It was amazing.  When we got to the island we had time to explore and walk the beach,  We were each permitted to bring one shell back.  It is an private beach with no human inhabitation.  It was so informative and exciting.

After shopping at the gift shop we went to the Isle of Palms and spent the afternoon at the beach.  It was very crowded but so much fun to just sit on the beach under a pop-up.  Jalen and Baylie dug a hole clear to China.

After a shower and restroom we headed to our favorite restaurant there. (We have only been there once before)  We had a great lunch and then some went for ice cream.  We were so tired when we got home.

Thursday we again got up early because Kristin didn't want to wait forever to get in this Eudora Wildlife Safari Park.  It was a few hours away and opened at 10:00 but Kristin wanted to be early.  We got there at 9:30 and they let us in.  You just stay in your car after buying some carrots and feed for the animals and just drive on this dirt road.  It takes more than an hour to see everything.  The animals are just loose and come to your car to get fed.  It is amazing.  They put their heads right in your car and you feed
them.  Because we were there so early, we could stop as long as we wanted at any animal and just see them so up close and natural.  There was no one close behind us,  One of the ostriches got my attention but for some reason neither Kristin or I can put movies on my blog.  Maybe she will put it on hers.  It's a riot.  We still laugh.

We were so tired that we ate dinner at Blaze Pizza.  Yummy!

Friday we decided to go to Monticello Lake to try out the kayak the Batchelors got for Christmas.  It was a short 30 minute ride and we ended up taking 3 kayaks.  Everyone but Granddad went on the water.  We just relaxed and again had so much fun.
                                                               Jalen, Kristin, Baylie
                                                               Kristin and Grammy
                                                                      Jalen and Baylie
When we got home a friend called Kristin and when she told her we had gone to the lake, she told her that was where her husband hunted for alligators.  It still was fun.

Saturday, we went to downtown Columbia and a street names Soda Street.  Every Saturday they close off 4 blocks and have a street bazaar.  It is filled with fresh flowers, paintings, crafts, and every kind of food you can think of.  We love to go there.
                                                                                  YUMMM!
                                                            one of the menus
                                                                Walking back to the car.
Sunday, our last day, we were able to go to church with the family.  After the meeting we ate dinner and Kristin and the kids took us to the airport.  What a great visit with so much fun and just being with those we don't see often enough.

We have decided that all my problems with dizziness, fainting, and blood pressure was due to my last Covid shot.  I had no problems in SC and haven't had since.  YaHoo!

Wednesday, the 14th was Kolton John's 18th birthday.  He is such a great young man and is always willing to help others.  He will graduate next month and get ready to serve the Lord on a mission. He loves sports and played football for PG High and now is playing Lacrosse.  We are always proud of the way he follows the teachings of his good parents and loves his family.  He is fun to be around.  We are excited because we get to go to his graduation.  We love that young man.

Friday we shopped for new cushions for our old swing that we just love.  We found some cute ones at the AT HOME store.  Dad cut up some old plywood and made planks he screwed in the frame so the cushions would be secure.
The next day Scott came with other scraps to finish the table where Dad's scraps were.
Of course the kids came and we had so much fun emptying the outside toy container and playing.

Kolton and Camden came right after they left to mow the lawns.  I'll take pictures next time. Yah right!  We covered the peach and nectarine trees because of the freezing weather.  This is what happens when you do that.

Sunday was a beautiful at home meeting.  Brother Sorenson bore his testimony in that he is moving close to where his wife's parents are going to be in a facility.  We will miss both families.  They are so special and such good, loving people.  Brother Martin gave a wonderful talk on ministering and Marilyn Carter, who has lived in the ward since birth gave a heartwarming talk.  It was jut a tender meeting.

Monday, the 19th, Clark came with our bee hives.  He is putting one in our yard.  It was so interesting to watch the procedure.  Bee were all over him but never stung.  They were only interested in making a home and finding the queen.

Of course Watts was a great help.
The rest of the week we got things done in the garden and yard.  We are so ready for warmer weather.

Saturday morning, Clark's family came to help with the planting.  Don't know what we would do without their help.
                                                                              Tyler
                                                                       Great potato planters

                                                                     a little cuddle time

Many hands makes work so much more fun.

That afternoon Erik, Shanelle, Camden and Asher came to mow our lawns.  It is just too hard for us any more and we just love having them here in person.  Kolton was off with another project and we loved having Shanelle cover for him.

Granddad has made a new decoration for our garden out of golf balls.  He loves doing things like this.
He also put up some new scarecrows.  Here is one of them.
When the garden is producing it will be beautiful.

My new sewing machine just arrived.  Now we just have to figure out how to set it up and use it.

We are so blessed with the family we have been given.  They are truly a joy and we love them so much.
We cannot express the blessings we receive because of this family and the joy that comes from striving to live as our Savior has taught us.  It's all so true.
