PIRATES, INDIANS AND WITCHES, OH MY!

freezing and still the roses bloom in our yard

Vanita called before church and had 10 chicken halves already to be cooked but had no one to eat them.  She gave them to us because Erik’s family was coming later.  We invited Scott’s family to come too.  I love it when we get  together.  We hurried and threw some rice, soup and spices with water in a pan and realized we had enough for two pans.  Dad cut the chicken in small pieces and we left for church.  I came home between Sunday School and church and put it in the oven.  I noticed the clock said it was 3:25 and church isn’t until 3:50 so I decided to do up the dishes from the fixin’.  After awhile I looked at the clock again and it still said 3:25.  Suddenly I realized it was the temperature not the time.  It was time for church so I threw it in the oven and left.  We were singing in the choir and meeting had started.  Dad was in the choir seats so I just waited for the song and went up then.  The things I do.
The dinner was wonderful and so much fun.  No one can put butter on a slice of homemade bread like Camden.  I think the butter was thicker than the bread.  We had berry pie and ice cream for dessert.  After dinner we watched “Toy Story Terror.”  It was just a fun time.
check out those eyes

Monday I had a fun time with Nixon.  He is so easy.  I had my work done before he got there so we just read and played.  Dad went fishing and caught 4 beautiful fish.  He didn’t get home until dinner so we gave them to the Piggots.  They couldn’t believe we didn’t want them but it was taco night.  Boy is that a good excuse for me.
Tuesday evening we watched Camden and Kolton play football.  It is so enjoyable to be with them and enjoy the rest of the family.  It was a chilly evening but we enjoyed it.

Family
Tiff and kids came Wed. night so Thursday morning we got Ava and headed to the Hogle Zoo.  Shanelle was going on Kolton's field trip to help so we met her there and took Camden and Asher with us.  We had a blast.  Cameron spent the entire time at the bird exhibit.  He loves birds so he was perfectly happy.  It is a great place to study them.  I'm just posting some pictures I took to show how much fun we had.  Shanelle's boys had to leave before we did.

Where are we going next?

We left the zoo and headed back to Provo and Trafalga.  This is such a fun place. You would think the zoo would be enough but Tiffani is unstoppable.  We played several hours.  They even did lazer tag.  Cameron bowled and played games to get tickets the whole time and earned mega tickets.  He shared his winnings with the girls.  The girls loved the climbing wall and the plane ride.

Friday was the BYU vs Boise State day.  We had 12 tickets and had a blast.  We were worried how Cameron would handle things if BYU lost   He is a real fan.  Boise was never in the game so it was fun for everyone.

We spent all day getting ready for the family Halloween Party.  Scott and Beth planned it and it was held at their home.  While we got ready, Granddad raked leaves with Clara and Lauryn joined in for the fun.

We started by playing outside games.  Everyone was in costume and everyone had fun.  Didn't get a picture of bingo or bobbing for apples.

After the games we ate and ate and ate, Bayles style.  Everyone brought their chosen games, food, treats and prizes.  It was just so much fun.  I didn't get all the pictures I wanted and hope the girls will send some before I get this sent.  I'm afraid they just wore me right out.  This is Erik's family, costumes made by Shanelle:

We gathered in Scott's home for some dinner and goodies.  We ate in the Bayles style----eat 'till you can't eat any more.  It was so good and tasty.  All kinds of Halloween treats were on the bar. plus some nutritious, yummy food.

Master of the House:
Gandalf

We had a watch bird visiting from Vegas who made sure no one entered our home while we were away.  He traveled with the Jennings' family in that he is Cameron's bird.  We told him to call the police if there were any monsters around.
Did I hear something?

Hello! 911

We do hope all have a very Happy Halloween and enjoy your own families.  We had a hard time without Kristin's family.  There was such an empty space at the tables.  I have included a picture of the Batchelor Pirates of South Carolina.

We sure do love this crazy, mixed-up family of ours and grateful we're a together family forever.  I love that old man in the beard.  Old Mother Hubbard chose not to be seen, but she is always the glue that holds us together. I love her whether her cupboard is bare or not.

  1. So much fun! I can't even believe Grandad's costume. Wow. And I'm pretty much speechless over Dave as well.
