July started out with Tiffani and her family here for a few days in preparation for them to go to Bear Lake for a Jennings family reunion. It is always great when they are here. I can't believe it but I did not take one picture of them while they were here. We were just so busy going here and there and taking care of Titan. We went to Scott and Beth's for dinner Thursday night and just sat around and visited. It was so relaxing and just a grand time. That same afternoon I had a surgery on my left arm to remove some cancer cells. It went very well but I guess I did more that I was supposed to because it became quite painful and swollen. Oh well.
The next day the Jennings left for their reunion and left Titan with Scott's family.
Saturday I had a very rough morning and went back to bed and slept until 10:30, 3 whole hours. We awaited anxiously for Kristin and the kids to fly in for the month. We are so excited to have them.
Santa loves the United States of AmericaMonday some of Clark's, Kristin's and Scott's kids, along with their parents came and tore out our berm and cleared out all the rubble which left a beautiful space. We hated to see all the beautiful flowers gone but it is just too hard to take care of it. Some of the kids carried 15 large bags of bark and spread it around the border of the yard. They worked so very hard most of the day. I guess I worked a little hard and had a hard time.
the group
Tuesday I was very dizzy and Dad took me to the emergency room. I spent all day there and they sent me home and told me to go to the stroke center the next day. The stroke center was closed for the week. I slept for the whole day.
The next day Kristin went to have Dr. McKell cap one of her molars. Amazing enough Dr. McKell said she didn't need one. Saved a bunch of money. I was still having a lot of trouble and dizzy.
Tiffani, Beth and Kristin and their kids went on a hike up the canyon. It was a beautiful hike.
cookiesFriday, the 9th, Dad took me to Dr. Noonan and she had me go to the emergency place at the hospital. After several hours they admitted me. No Disney trip. I was just so upset with it all. They did all kinds of tests and found that I had an acute ischemic left MCA stroke with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation and immediately gave me some meds to help everything slow down. It was not a happy day. They found I had blood clots in the upper chambers in my heart. I also have cerebral edema in my brain. I'm in the hospital for awhile. Not a fun time.
Saturday Ruth and Max Seamons came for a visit which was wonderful and Clark and Dianne came and snuck the kids in. Tiff brought the kids across the street and waved up to the 6th floor.
Sunday, Kristin showered me (which was very humbling) but felt so good. Del called.
and the 6 grandchildren went to the Jennings cabin for 4 days to just be together and have fun. I was released from the hospital after 4 days.
Sunday Kristin was so kind and helped me shower. She has just done everything for me. I could not have done this without her. Dad was so happy to have her here.
Dad was with me every day, all day long. He was a great support. Monday afternoon. the 12th, I was released from the hospital. I was a little nervous but really wanted to be home. The next morning I had my stitches in my arm out. It was so nice not to have that bandage from my cancer removal. It was perfect. My physical therapist came.
Wednesday, the 14th, Granddad took Nixon and Jalen fishing. They were so excited and are such good friends. They went swimming, throwing rocks and even fished.

George and LymanThe next day Tiffani brought the kids back from their adventure. I had a visit with Dr. Noonan. She gave Dad directions on what I needed. She is a good Dr. I had a speech therapist come and do some exercises with me. I have 3 therapists 2 times a week. Kristin and I went to Susie Cherry and had beautiful hair cuts.
Saturday, Brother Acor came for a visit, Dee Bradford called, Karla Mercer came over with a plant and a huge cookie. Beth brought us lunch and 2 dinners.
Tuesday the 20th, was our 55th wedding anniversary. Dad was so special
He ordered dinner from Texas Road House. Scott's family came over and changed our ceiling light in the basement and is putting a safety bar on our tub when exiting the shower. Beth brought a bunt cake. It was a fun evening until the second fluorescent light blew up. FUN. No one was hurt and we laughed our heads off. Not Scott.
Karma brought flowers. She is so sweet and they are so pretty.Thursday, July 22, was a hard day, Dad was able to go to the temple and do sealings and a session. It is so wonderful that we can do this now. I could not go but was so proud that dad did. Dad packed everything up and with the things we had made. I had made a patriotic quilt throw and dad had made 15 canes and 20 walking sticks for the reunion Trading Post and raffle. They were a hit.
Kristin stayed home to take care of me so unselfishly. She always goes to the reunions. She has been so wonderful and taken such good care of me. She is as bossy as a mother. She has worked in the garden, cooked, washed dishes, cleaned, hung out the laundry, shopped, run errands, made sure I took my pills and drank a gallon of water every day. I could not have done it without her and Dad would never have gone to the reunion without her here. What a blessing she has been.
After everyone got there they ate and when it was dark the kids went crawdading. They'll cook them tomorrow night. It's the favorite of the kids.
The next day was the trading post which all came. Everyone gets involved and it is just so much fun. That afternoon they have a kind of raffle. Dad took 15 canes and 20 waking sticks. He has been making them ever since our first mission. They are beautiful. They were gone in no time.

Sunday was the testimony meeting and then everyone headed home with great joy in their hearts and testimonies in their souls.
While everyone was in Colorado, Kristin was home tending me. We had a very fun and quiet time.
Monday everyone was so tired but the twins had BYU Volleyball Camp and Baylie had BYU Tennis Camp. They enjoyed the entire week. Tiffani hauled them to their camps.
Tuesday, Kristin flew to Atlanta for an Optavia Conference which was very good. David met her there. Monday, I visited with Dr. Hwang. He made an appointment for me to get a heart monitor put on the next day. Fun. I can't remember things that happened during this time so nothing is in order.
Tiffani was there the entire time which made it easy for us. Thursday was the twins last day and they got volleyballs signed by the BYU players. They had classes until 8:00 every day.
Friday was Baylie's last day and it was a tournament. We all cheered her on. She won 2 of her 3 matches. Tiffani treated us to Swig after.
Tiff and the family left when they got up the next morning. The girls had to get ready for girl's camp.
Titan and Jalen waitingThe police evicted our neighbors and we are so relieved. A cleaning company brought in 18 huge trucks and cleaned things out. The next day they finished hauling things out of the back yard.
Saturday, Erik and Shanelle took Baylie and Jalen to Tibble Fork in the mountains to swim, kayak and play in the lake. They then took them home, had dinner and if that wasn't enough went to see The Jungle Cruise movie. What a great day for them.
It was a very good month and it was so fun to have so much family around. We love our family and could not ask for anything better. They are amazing people and we love them all so much. We are so grateful for a loving Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ who make this life so blessed. We continually pray for each one of them and are so grateful for their kindness to us. They are our treasures for eternity.
