LET FREEDOM RING

Sorry but this is my little bear who wears my mission badge and reminds me that we never quit serving.  For this picture she sits on a table runner that Iris Titsworth, a missionary from Alma, Arkansas, and served in the Palmyra Temple, made for us.
We completely forgot an important event in June.  This happens often.  We went to Jonny's swim meet where he did so well.  He was so fun to watch.

Another miss was the joy of having Gary and Deb come for a visit and a great meal at Olive Garden.  We love them and their great family.  We think of them as ours.

Wednesday, July 3rd the Stallards came for lunch.  We love them and served with them on our Palmyra Temple Mission.   They are from Pennsylvania and now have a call to serve in the Toronto Temple Mission.  We called the Seamons so we could visit together.  What fun we had.  They have children close by and wanted to visit them before leaving on their next mission.

Tiff and Dave and kids got here after midnight on the 4th.  They always say they will leave early but never do.  They got up very early to run in the 4th of July races.
Tiffani had sprained her ankle very badly so she could not run.  Dave, Cameron and the twins did the 5K.  Clara came in very well and the other were right behind.  Scott and his family also ran.  They loved the medals that were given.  Rowan was in her stroller.  After the race we went to Magelby's for breakfast.
                                                          Cameron loves this place.

So tired  Dave and Dad
Clara and I made a cute cake for the celebration.
That evening we watched the fireworks at the  BYU Stadium from our house.  The kids set off poppers and watched the neighborhood fireworks which were amazing.
July 5th is Ashley's husband, Tyler Johns' birthday.  We are so glad he is in our family.  He is a good father and husband and loves his family.
For breakfast we went to Waffle Love and met Beth and kids for breakfast.

what a waffle
The Jennings left for their reunion at Bear Lake and we got Flappy.

Saturday, July 6th, we went to the booths by the court house to see what was happening there. I tried on some dresses but there was not a booth to try them on so I just hid behind the clothes rack.  When I took off the dress my shirt came with it and there I was showing my garments off.  Boy did I get my shirt on fast.
That afternoon my brother Del came to visit with his new wife, Brigetta.  We had a very nice visit.  They had been to Tacoma, Washington where Del has his sail boat and were headed to Cedar City where Brigetta has a home.  She also has one in California and Del's home is in Kingman, Arizona.  They are going to try to down size.
The next day was Sunday and we went to church and then studied "Come Follow Me"  We love that program and hope all our families are doing it.
Somewhere in all this crazy time we did work on our garden and the cousins enjoyed time together.

July 9th We did a session at the Provo city Temple with the Seamons.  I don’t know why I forget to take pictures.  It was a wonderful session and we so enjoyed the beauty and simplicity of that temple.  Of course we went to Charleys after.
July 10th I finally finished the June blog.  I don't know why it takes me so long.  George went fishing with Cliff but again Cliff's boat would not work,  That is so sad because they both love to fish together.
The next day we took our new trailer to Huntington State Park for the San Rafael Tri.  Our trailer was wonderful.  We hope to use it more. This is one of our favorite triathlons. Clark's family was there and we watched them play in the lake all day on their long boards and kayaks.  It was such a pleasant day.  We so enjoyed our trailer and it's comforts. Clark had spent so many hours tearing down and building up the tent trailer until now it looks like new.  We could not believe it was the same one.
Dianne fed us such good meals the entire time we were there.
We brought our own but she is such a good cook; she way out did our menus.  When evening arrived the sky was filled with red beauty.  The women were even better.
Friday we watched the families play in the lake again.  Dianne's brother Steve and his family were also there.  It was just a great day.  Dinner that night was the spaghetti one served to the tri fans and competitors.  Everyone was excited for the next day and the air was encouraging.  A little rain never hurt anyone.
The big day arrived and everything went so well.
Tuff competitor
Clark took 2nd overall and first in his class.

The cheering family
Jonny took third and we were so proud of him because first was 18 years old and second was 14.  He is almost 12.  We had lunch and headed home because Kristin and Tiffani were on their way to Utah.  Yippee!  Kristin's missed 2 flights with a 5 hour layover in Chicago
and 7 hours in the other flight.  They did get first class though.  They got here at midnight and Tiff went to pick them up.  Kristin's took the upstairs and Tiff's took the basement.  The kids slept wherever.
Thank goodness our church isn't until noon.  Everyone slept in and rested.  Having so much family made the meeting even better.  The YW said the girls really were incredible in class.  No surprise.  They have been taught well.  Cameron was ill and didn't make it which is sad because he loves going to our ward.  The girls wore my dresses because they forgot theirs.  They are just growing too fast and too beautiful.  They are so fun.
We were so excited for July 15th because the whole family was coming for dinner.  We promised tri tips, Dutch oven potatoes, and all the trimmings.  Everyone was there but Dave and Tyler because they had to work and Riley because he was on his mission.  It was a great day.  The kids are so creative with their games.  They made everything up and we don't know how they continued game after game with so much running.  They even had a human barrel race.  It was just an enjoyable afternoon and evening.

So tired with all the fun.
Sunday we learned that Bishop Hunter's daughter, Megan, was in a horrible car accident and has had surgery because she broke the bones in her neck.  She did no harm to her spinal column so that is good.  She took All State in track and took Provo High to the State Champs in track.  She is an amazing young girl and will do well because of her faith and attitude.  What a special young lady.  We love her.  Lauryn decided to make cookies for Megan and Camden helped.
Suddenly all the kids wanted a taste.
When the cookies were finished the kids delivered them and sang, "Heavenly Father, are You really there?"  The room was filled with such a calming Spirit.  It was tangible.  Megan smiled her beautiful smile.  What a wonderful group of children.  We are so blessed that they love each other.

The next day Erik's family invited everyone to go to Highland Park to play in a pond.  Erik, Kristin and Tiff's families were there. It was such a fun place.  We sat in our lawn chairs while Erik and the kids played on paddle boards, kayaks

The ducks just swam all around everyone.  Across the pond was a platform where they could just jump off.

Many of these pictures in July are compliments of Kristin.  Thank you so much.  After swimming, we went to Erik's for hot dogs.  And even after that we all went to Lucky's for Hawaiian Shaved Ice.  They were huge and so good.

It was a fabulous few days.
Wednesday the 17th Tiff and Bethany's families went Tibble Fork because the road to Hobble Creek was closed because of a fire.  We stayed home with Kristin.  When I got up Dad was on the couch feeling very dizzy and had dripping cold sweats.  I took him immediately to the ER.  We were there for 6 hours doing all kinds of tests.  The doctors couldn't decide whether to keep him there or send him home.  Erik and David gave him a blessing.  Erik has the gift of healing and gave him a beautiful blessing.  His blood pressure was extremely high but the aneurysm and pace maker were fine so they sent him home with orders that he was not to go to Colorado for the Bayles reunion which we were in charge of.  That was hard news to take but we stayed home and Kristin's, Tiff's and Clark's families went and took over with all the doings for a reunion.
That evening, or sometime, we went to Blaze Pizza for dinner.  It is Dad,s favorite.
The next day Kristin and Clark left for the reunion at the ranch.   Clark and Dianne stopped by and left us with food for three days which made it easier on us.  Dianne is a master cook. She also gave us a throw she had made which is like one she made for the reunion on a larger scale.  We absolutely love ours because it is more than just reunion blocks.
Tiff met them ai the ranch  because she left from her home in Las Vegas.  They were incredible and all the Bayles families said it was the best reunion ever.

Dad is still not doing well and we are having a hard time not being with family.  It's a good thing we are not traveling.

The 20th was our 53rd wedding anniversary.  It has been a very adventurous 53 years and we want to be together always.  Scott called and invited us for dinner since he had to work and couldn't go to the reunion.  He didn't know it was our anniversary.
We had a great cookout and Bethany made a yummy peach pie for dessert.  The kids entertained us by making a sorta go cart.
It was fun to be with some of our family.  The greatest blessing we have is being sealed in the temple so we can have all of our family forever.
Sunday was the last day of the reunion,  Everyone headed home.  Kristin and Tiffani took the long way back and went to the places they loved as children; Blanding,  Bluff, and the Blanding Cemetery.  They went at different times and some different places.
This was a fun field trip when they were in elementary

They also went to Bluff Fort where our ancestors lived who came through the Hole in the Rock.
Dad and I helped build this cabin at Fort Bluff.  Plan on a trip there.
We have family graves in the Bluff Cemetery.
Both girls went to Blanding.
Blanding first ward where their Dad was a Bishop.
The chapel.  Tiffany just knew one of the girls in this picture was her.
Our home just out of town.
Many family home evenings and prayers were given here.  The memories are forever.
This is where Granny and Granddad are buried and where we will be too.  Kristin and David also have a place here.  It was a great time and place to have our family.
Tiffani and the twins took Bailey with them  to Vegas for a week.
Tiffani took the Monument Valley route.
She also kidnapped Baylie for a week.  Rough time!
When Kristin got home she had 2 hand made wall hangings for us.
This one made by Cathy Cosby and rotates to the person in charge of the reunion.  We love it.
This owl piece was done by Mikki.  I had read "The Guardians of Ga'Hoole" to my class and Mikki loves owls so I gave the book to her to read and she loved it and made this quilt.  I fell in love with it years ago and she gave it to Kristin at the reunion to give to me.  I am so blessed.
Monday, the 22nd, the boys mowed the lawn and a friend from way back, Chari, came to visit Kristin.  Clark's family came and when Erik's boy finished the mowing, Jalen went home with Asher for the night.  It was Jalen's first time for a sleepover and he did very well.
They did some serious hiking and just had a great time.
July 23rd, Jonny turned 12.
He is such a fun boy,  He loves going to the temple to do baptisms.  He loves to create things and has a workout place in their garage.  He is always doing or building something.  He loves doing anything with his dad.  We loves that he comes with his dad to help us in our yard.
 We sure do love him.
On the 24th we went to Camp Williams to visit Milton's grave, my brother who died while we were on our mission.

It was very different for me.  My emotions were very close.  I had bought a painting of his when we got home even though he had given me many.  I love his work.
Standing there, knowing he was gone, was very difficult for me but I know we will be together again.  David, Kristin and Jalen came with us.  It was good to have them there.  On the way home we went to Clark's home because Kristin had never been there. She loved their fun home.

Thursday the 25th, Kristin and I left for St. George to see "When You Wish" at the Tuacahn out door theater.  We met Bethany, Ava, Rowan and Tiffani, Lauryn, Clara, and Baylie there.  Bethany had a friend who had an incredible condo there.  Baylie had been with Tiff for a week so Kristin was very anxious to be with her. After settling in the girls went swimming in 2 of their 3 pools.
Rowan went down the slides more than the girls.  There was much laughter.
It is tradition that I take them to dinner before the show.

Pizza Factory was not a disappointment.
The show was so good and I don't think Rowan's eyes ever left the stage.  They do a tremendous job with the 3 plays each summer.  We love the bonding.

I don't know where Lauryn went.
We didn't get back until way late; so slept in and then went shopping.  The Gap store had amazing sales so everyone was pleased with their more than 75% savings.  Kristin, Baylie and I left for Provo via Beaver so we could get more cheese curds and ice cream.  When we got home everyone wanted Cafe Rio for dinner so we ordered pick up and ate at home.

Saturday we did laundry and got things in order for the kids to fly out Sunday morning.  We ate breakfast at Waffle Love again.  It is so yummy.
Jalen was tired and Kristin didn't feel well so Dad, David, Baylie and I went to Tibble Fork to watch Scott and Nixon fish.

Baylie even jumped in.
It was fun until Dad got a hook in his arm and had to push it through to get it out.  A little blood is good for the soul.
It was still a great day.
We were so tired that we ordered dinner at In-and- Out.  Because Kristin didn't feel any better so they decided not to leave so she could rest.
Sunday we took the family to the air port at 7:00 AM and decided to wait to see it they made the 9:00 flight.  They didn't but there was another flight at noon which they made.  We went to church and listened to Rick McCloskey, Kylee Rife and Cheryl Wilcox speak which was a very good meeting.  We were very tired but the talks were so good.  Kristin got home at 9:00 PM. so happy to be home.

Monday the 29th, George had another appointment with Dr. Hwang and everything was good.  What a relief.  Now he is just concerned about Dad's legs  The arteries are not as they should be.  We are seeing another doctor about that.

The lasts day of July we went to the Mt Timpanogos Temple with the Seamons.  What a huge temple.  It is so beautiful and so reverent.  We were in endowment room 4 which is huge for us.  We went to Chubby's after and on our way home, George's brother, Mark, with his wife, Kay,  called to say they were in our driveway.  Kay has been very ill with a weak heart and is now looking so good.  It was so nice to see them and hear about the reunion and just visit.

July has been a very busy month and we have seen so many improvements in our yard due to hard work and family help.  We don't know how families survive without the help of their children and grands.  We so love our wonderful family and strive to be worthy of them in the eternities.
