July 1st we took Erik and Kristin’s families out on the boat and went fishing. They spent most of the time swimming and goofing off. We had pizza for dinner.

The next day, dad and I stayed with the children while Erik,
Kolton, Parker, Ashley, Molly, Hailey, David and Kristin did baptisms for the
work Kristin had done on David’s family. Went to Nixon’s T Ball game and then to dinner at Café Rio. While there we ran into Jess Cornwell and his daughter, Jen and her family.
We had a great dinner and visit.
We are spending much time in the garden and starting to enjoy
the benefits of good veggies. The peas
are now gone.
There's always a balloon fest and one almost landed in our back yard.
July 4th was such a great day. It’s always great to be with family at such
an important time. We started early in
the morning for the 5K run. The entire
family entered to celebrate Kristin’s 92 pound weight loss. When she ran over the finish line she just
broke down crying. She could not believe
she had done such a thing. We were all
so proud of her.

We shot off a few of our own. We are so blessed to live in this free
country.
I taught the lesson in RS Sunday. It was on the doctrine of Christ. I felt it went well. We are so blessed to know who we are and what
God expects of us. It is so little for
so much. We just need to have faith in
our Father, repent of our wrongs, be baptized and receive the Gift of the Holy
Ghost and then endure to the end, which means learn and grow in service ‘till
we die. What a beautiful thing is
that? We are so blessed to have a temple
so close, in fact many temples so close.
We need to go often and renew the promises we made to our Father in
Heaven and keep the covenants w promised to keep. Nothing is better than that.

After church we headed to Mirror Lake with Erik’s family. We went on the Sabbath because Erik’s family
was going on another trip to Bear Lake after our trip. We took our trailer and Erik took the tent trailer. David and Kristin’s family slept in a tent.
The beauty of the high Uintahs, the mountains and lakes was beyond our imagination. We loved every second even if the last day and night was filled with much rain.
Monday we fished and fished.
The next day Erik's family, Ava and Nixon came for dinner. We love it when we can be with family. Hopefully all these pictures and the fabulous news letters help us keep our memories vivid. We love the news letters.
Granddad had them clean their own fish and then cook them.
On the way home we stopped at Provo River Falls. We didn't even know such a place existed. We must go more often. It's as beautiful as some of the falls in NC.

Kristin has the kids do homework every day but Sunday.
July 10th, at the lat minute we all decided to go to the zoo. We took Ava and Nixon with us as Bethany and Scott had to work. We were gone ALL day. Ava had gotten her cast off the day before.
After such a long day we headed for Erik's and the men
went to In-N-Out to get us dinner. We were sooo tired but it was such a
fun day. Clark and his family came while we were there to get the tent
trailer for the tri in two weeks. They stayed and we all visited for a
while. We love when that happens.
We got up at 4:45 Saturday to go to the Echo tri and watch Clark compete. He came in 7th. Again it was fun to be with family.
Monday was great because Baylie and Jalen did all my chores. All I had o do was the yard and laundry. It was so nice to walk in the house and see it so clean and sparkly.

Sunday is always filled with the Spirit. It's our most favorite day of the week because we get to partake of the sacrament. What a sacred time we have to review our week and ask forgiveness for the things we need forgiving. It's a special time to think of our Savior and the many things He has done for us. We love that time. The kids were so reverent it was easy to be thankful.
That afternoon the family went to a Minion movie. Dad and I did not. After the movie they went on tubes and rafts down the Provo River. They had a blast. A few bumps and bruises but nothing serious. No pictures 'cause we didn't go.
We met them at 8:00 for dinner at Erik's. It was Monday night so of course we had a yummy taco dinner.
Scott's went on the river but had other plans for dinner. Clark''s family had friends from Vegas. It was a great evening with lots of laughter and stiffness.
Even jumped in the dark
When it was over we had a great lunch, invited by Steven and Tina Goats (Di's brother) and headed home. We got home in time to unpack, clean the trailer and cook a good meal It was a great week end. It is always fun to be with so much family. We enjoyed every second.
Tuesday we went to the temple to do initiatories for the names Kristin had worked on. It was a special experience. I spent two days on Relief Society visiting reports.
July 16th we headed for Huntington, Utah and the San Rafael Tri. It was such a beautiful campground an even had flush toilets and showers. Our site was right on the lake surrounded by grass and a lovely view.
Friday evening was a dinner provided by the tri people. It is a fund raiser tri. More games were played thanks to Shanelle.
The Batchelors tented
The kids played and played in the water and had so much fun. Clark's family got there around 4 and brought all kinds of water travel; kayaks, long boards, etc. It was a blast.
Jalen was a pro on the kayak
Friday Erik and his family came. It was just an extremely fun time. Again they spent the day in the water playing on a giant water slide provided by the park. What fun! Friday evening was a dinner provided by the tri people. It is a fund raiser tri. More games were played thanks to Shanelle.
Saturday got us up at 5:30 and the race. Kristin was so nervous because she was doing the 750 meters swimming part in a relay. Shanelle did the 14 mile bike and David did the 5K run. They did so well and Kristin didn't come in last and didn't drown. She was so nervous and excited at the same time.
They took 3rd place and we were so proud. They want to do it again next year.

Sunday, Shanelle came over with Camden and Asher because Erik, Parker and Kolton were in Ephraim at a football camp. Kristin spent the evening trying to teach us to do genealogy. It is very confusing but we are going to give it our best shot.
The 20th was our 49th wedding anniversary. Dad brought me flowers and a coupon for a pedicure and nails. We had lunch together. We are talking about putting our mission papers in again. We'll see when I am released from Relief Society. We made reservations for our cruise to Alaska. It is on my bucket list. We will be gone for 8 days and are very excited.
July 23rd Jonny turned 8 and was baptized in the swimmin' hole at Pine Valley. He was so excited. The Spirit was so beautiful and peaceful. It was a perfect setting. The water reflected the mountains and trees so beautifully. Jonny gave a wonderful testimony after Clark baptized him. We are so grateful for a son who is worthy to use his priesthood in this way. There is such power in a family led by a father who honors his priesthood. Jonny asked me to bear my testimony and I was thrilled to do so. After we all went to the Goates' home for a yummy dinner on the basketball court. There were many people.
Jonny is a special boy who has blessed this family in so many ways. He has an infectious smile. He is a direct answer to Riley's prayers.
July 24th we packed the trailer and headed to Colorado for the Bayles family reunion. Erik's family was right behind us. We met Tiff and the kids in Moab at the bridge.
We had lunch and then headed on to the ranch.
We left home at 9:30 and finally got to the ranch at 6:00. It made for a long day. At 9:30 the kids and Shawn's crew headed to the lake for crawdad fishin'. They came back at 11:30 with over 300 crawdads. This is the highlight of the reunion. Only 2 kids fell in the lake this year.
Saturday the men worked on a service project taking down the porch off of Shawn's trailer.
Aunt Julie has bought it and is moving it to her place. Everyone did whatever they wanted. Tiffani took pictures of the twins in their baptism dresses.
We were blessed by Justine's mother and family coming to the reunion and making Navajo fry bread for our dinner. We were in charge of dinner and were planning Granny's haystacks so this was a real treat. The chili was already made and so we had yummy Navajo tacos, made by a real Navajo, for dinner. They made over a hundred fry breads. It was incredible. They are such good people. Thank goodness we have a Navajo in the family.
After dinner was cleaned up. Dad conducted a family meeting for his siblings. We had a plot in Blanding and decided first come, first served. I guess we had better look for a new place to be buried.
After the meeting we had our evening meeting. David and Baylie did a beautiful dance. David conducted the meeting and we did the Hokey Pokey, The Chicken Dance and David led us in a country line dance. It was a fun time. When we were finished Katie did a special party for Aunt Mikki's 75th birthday.
After all the doings the Shawn and Kelly brought the crawdads from last night. They cooked all 300 of them with corn on the cob and potatoes. Everyone downed them right away. Well, almost everyone. It was a big hit as usual. I think that's the only reason the kids like to come.
After the meeting Kristin fixed us a lunch and we headed our separate ways. Erik's family had already left because Shanelle's parents were on their way to their home from Washington. It is always so hard to say good-by to everyone but it was a great few days.
We love the Bayles kin so much. It was a long trip, we got home at 10:00 and crashed.
Monday was cleaning, gardening and laundry.
Tuesday morning I got up early and opened the church for Ruth Folsom's funeral. She was a wonderful, valiant sister in the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a dear lady and we loved her. the funeral was so good. It lasted only 1 hour and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ was taught.
I took Kristin to Dr. McKell to get her final dental work done. She replaced the cap she got when she was 18 and a crown on a back tooth. Got home in time to fix dinner and then a RS Pres. meeting at 7 in our home.
Tuesday we met Milt at a place for breakfast. It was so good to be with him again and have such a nice visit. He looked better than I have seen him this past ordeal.
We got things in order for Kristin to fly our in the morning. The kids crawled in bed with us for a selfie.
She made her flight to Houston but did not get out of Houston. She and the kids had to stay in a motel for the night. They made it out the next morning. It was a great visit. David stayed for a few days and studied for his presentation in Aspen. He flew out Sunday morning.
The 31st we had Nixon all day in that Scott was working and Bethany and Ava were in Park City dancing for the weekend. He was so much fun. He helped Granddad work on the boat
and then Scott got home and they went fishing. They caught 5 fish and had such a good time. Scott's rainbow was 18 inches long and weighed 2 lbs.
What a full and wonderful month. We had so much fun being so often with family. Sometimes it was a bit hard but it was still a great month. We love our children and grands and it was such a blessing to see all of them . We are exhausted and hope for some rest before we head to SC for David's graduation on Thursday. the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is so true and the only thing we can hang on to in bad times. We must keep our families focused on our Savior to stay true in the days ahead. We love you all.
