The best news to begin this month is that David passed all his tests and assignments and now has his doctorate degree. YaHoo!
Parker Durham Bayles is now 14. His birthday
was June fird. We will always remember
how he said it when he was only 2. For
his birthday we went to the origami exhibit at the Museum of art at BYU. It was amazing, even dresses were made of
paper origami. We also saw a Navajo rug
display and then went to the library to see a WW1 exhibit. There was also a room of the Japanese Samurai warriors. It was Parker’s idea and we loved every bit
of it. After, we went to Parker’s home
for eggs and toast. Granddad was in
heaven. Shanelle makes them even better
than we do. We had brownies and ice
cream for dessert.
Parker is a great young man and we so enjoy being with him. He gets excited about everything. He will be ordained a teacher Sunday. He loves to learn new things and enjoys being a part of the high school football program. He has a strong testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ which we are so grateful for. We love this guy.

The
men are putting our new windows in and they are so wonderful. I don’t have to go outside to wash the
outside panes any more. I can live with
that.
June 4th,
at about 9:30 Scott called to see if we could get Nixon from his grandpa’s
house. Ava had fallen on the monkey bars
and her arm was broken. They went to
emergency and they sent them to SLC, Primary Children’s Hospital because she
would need some surgery, What a way to start the summer. We kept Nixon for the night since Ava had to
stay and have the surgery the next morning.
He woke up every 15 or twenty minutes whimpering and wondering where Ava
was. I slept with him all night. Granddad
got up and left for the temple at 6:15.
I asked Nixon if he wanted to sleep in Granddad’s bed and he climbed
right in and slept until 10:30.
Ava
had surgery first thing that morning and the doctor put 4 pins in her arm to
steady the bone. She will get a cast on
Wednesday. She’s a trooper and never
cried through the whole thing.
We
took dad’s boat and our trailer to a place where it is easier to park and get
out. It will be good for us. They are side by side.
June 6th
we got up and went to Scott and Beth’s yard sale. They did well and even Ava and Nixon had a
booth.
Ava's arm got sore so Nixon's friend helped
We
have worked so hard in the garden and yard.
It has rained so much lately that we couldn’t get to it. The weeds were so bad but we finally won: we
are so tired and worn out.
June 7th
was the Pason Temple dedication. Temples
are all over the world now. The restored
gospel of Jesus Christ is so true and we must do everything we can to help in
the gathering of Israel. We watched
Elder L. Tom Perry’s funeral on TV. What
an incredible man he was and is. It is
so good to know the doctrine of Christ.
June
10th was Lily’s birthday.
What a special little girl. She
is so kind to children and has a special way with them. She tries so hard to follow the teachings of
our Father in Heaven. She has lots of
life and energy and is a joy to be around.
She makes everyone around her happy.
Molly, Camden and Lily
Beth and
Ava spent the morning in SLC getting a pink cast put on Ava’s arm. They picked me up at noon and we headed to St
George to meet up with Tiffani and the twins.
We had tickets to the Tuachan Theater for two nights to see Beauty and
the Beast and When you Wish. We got there just in time to unpack our things, get settled in our room, and head out for dinner.
cast signing first
The girls were so excited to be
together. They laughed and giggled and
danced everywhere we went.
We ate at Brick Oven and went on to the theater in the beautiful red rocks. It is all outside and amazing.
me and the girls
Beauty and the Beast
waiting
It lightning and thundered through most of
the first half and made me very nervous.
With just a few minutes left they paused the show for 25 minutes ‘till the rain stopped.
They resumed the show
and when the scene was over it was intermission and they had it for another 25
minutes. It started and after one scene
it began to rain again so they just stopped the whole show and we headed out. By the time we got to the top of the steps the
rain quit for the rest of the night but they didn’t continue. We were so disappointed but it was close to
midnight and we were tired and with no choice headed back to the motel.
The
girls were so tired they didn’t get up in time for breakfast so Tiff and I took
trays of food to them.
After the fashion show they went swimming but because Ava was in a cast they didn’t last long.
She was so sad but handled it very well. We went shopping until 6:00. I didn’t know human beings ever did that. The girls were in heaven trying on everything in the store and I was exhausted.
What a fun day. That evening we
ate at Kneaders and headed to the next show.
It was amazing! It was many numbers from different Disney shows. It even had real horses running wild across the stage. The girls really loved that part. Aladdin even flew on his magic carpet way high above us. Mary Poppins came down from the sky with her broom and the Newsies crew tapped on tables and everything was perfect. It had the part from Beauty that we had missed the night before so all was well.

How can I choose?

meeting some of the cast
We got back to the motel late that night too but the girls made it to
breakfast. I couldn’t believe it but
they shopped AGAIN. The twins bought
their dresses for their baptism in September.
They went to a special store that carries baptismal clothes. Lauren chose what she calls a wedding dress
and Clara chose one out of a catalog.
Ava wasn’t about to be left out so she tried on dresses too. She’ll be ready when it's her turn. We went to Swigs, separated, and headed our different ways home.
While
we were gone Granddad, Scott and Nixon went fishing in Granddad’s boat. Erik’s and Clark’s boys were not able to
go. They caught 8 huge trout. Nixon even jumped off the ramp on the boat and
went swimming. He realized right soon
how cold the water was. They had a great
time.
The
next morning, believe it or not, we headed for Scott’s triathlon at 6:00
AM. We were so tired but the race was
great and Scott did so well. We were so
proud of him.
They took us to lunch after at the train café and we ate well.

That evening
we went to the wedding reception for one of our Elders on our mission, Jason
Fullmer. He was great and still so
obedient and filled with the Spirit. His
wife is beautiful. Dr. McKell and Lisa
were there and we had a wonderful visit.
The 16th was a good day at the temple. We visited with Jack and Lucille Carter after. He is not doing well at all. We met Erik and his family at Deer Creek at 5 for a picnic, swim and boat ride.
Erik wanted to practice his mile in a lake and did very well. He has an incredible stroke. It was fun to take the boat out and we had a blast. Asher just always wanted to go faster. How cute.
Just after Dad got home from the temple he drove past Kyle Cook, a missionary from our mission. He brought him home and we had a great visit. It was so good to see him and find how obedient he still is. He just got married to the girl who waited for him. We spent an hour talking over old times. He was such a good missionary. It made us so homesick. Dad gave him a walking stick.
That evening was the Strawberry Days Rodeo. We met Erik and Scott's families there.
It was an exciting rodeo and of course we ate strawberries and cream. Love that rodeo. Asher didn't like it when the bulldog rider landed on the calf. He's so tender. We didn't get home until 11:30.
While dad went fishing I went to see Cinderella. A muct see. Scott came over and helped dad put the shade thingie on the boat and we went to Outback for a Fathers' Day dinner.
That morning Parker lost control weight lifting and now has 7 stitches on his left cheek. The tear was quite deep. He'll be proud of the scar.
On Friday Scott and family came over while Scott hung our new door. It is going to be so beautiful. while he worked, the kids swam in our little rubber pool.
Bethany put plastic on Ava's arm so she could at least get in. We had hamburgers for dinner.
The next morning we got up and went to PG for the big Strawberry Days Parade. It is my favorite. Erik and Shanelle have a huge ward breakfast on their front lawn for the ward before the parade. (Erik really doesn't do anything in that he has 7 on 7 football as a coach) The ward is amazing. They bring the food and help cook it and clean up. It's been a tradition for years.
After the parade, Scott came over to finish hang the door. He completed everything but the staining and finish. We love it. F

Ava and her cousin Jordan
Scott and family come too. Before the parade Scott ran in the 5K and won first place for his age group and 14th over all. What a guy. After the parade, Scott came over to finish hang the door. He completed everything but the staining and finish. We love it. F
Fathers’
Day was fun. The Relief Society gave a
beautiful quote to the men and had a chocolate candy glued on the back. They were really cute about it. After a yummy steak dinner, dad opened his
presents. He loved hos Ninja blender and
Tony’s new book,Peter. At 6:00 we went
to Erik’s for banana splits. After the
splits Shanelle and Erik filmed Dad answering questions about his life. It was so fun and even I learned a lot. They also asked me a few questions. We had such a good time. Their family tries so hard to live the
doctrine of Christ and are doing so well.
It’ fun to be there.
We love our own fathers and appreciate how they taught us to be proud of our country and the doctrine of Jesus Christ. We always knew we were loved and cherished in every way. Granddad taught Dad great priesthood leadership and how to treat a wife and mother. Grandpa taught me how to work and serve others.
Monday Kolton came and did the yard all by himself. He did a great job. It looks great. Scott came at 3:30 and worked on or door. Bethany helped him stain it. It is beautiful.

The
restored gospel of Jesus Christ is so true.
We love serving and helping.
Terry
Smith took me through the veil again. He
does it so often. He always gives me a
hug. I love it. We were the witness couple again. Dad’s assistant principal at Centennial was
the officiator. Mike Bailey.
Lucy
is getting tired and we had to take her in again. We are just going to drive her ‘till she
dies. Don’t want to put a new
transmission in. It’s just too
expensive. When we got home Scott had been there and finished the door. He put the handle and weather stripping on. It is more beautiful than we ever imagined.
We left home at 8 and got
home at 6:15, so excited to sit down and rest a bit. No
longer than we sat down and I remembered I had a presidency meeting here at
7. It was a good meeting thank goodness.
Wednesday
while Dad was in the temple, I went to Milt’s.
He is a miracle. He still has a
hard time with balance but that’s to be expected in that he has no toes. We have a fun time together. I am so glad that families are forever.
It seems our garden takes most of out time but we are enjoying the food.

Friday
the 26th w left for Vernal and Kolton and Erik’s tris.
The city keeps flowers everywhere
I was excited
to go because I found I have a first cousin there who I had not seen for 35
years. Her name is Barbara Watson and we
had a great visit. We will now keep in touch. We saw the Vernal temple and can’t wait to go
back and do a session. It’s an old
tabernacle remodeled into a temple. It’s
so beautiful.
Kolton’s
tri was Friday and he did a very good job.
It was fun to watch and be with Erik’s family.
We went to an authentic Italian restaurant
afterwards. It reminded us of when we
ate in Italy. Good! Vernal is beautiful with tons of pots of flowers lining the entire city's Main street on both sides. They also hang from the lights and are a beautiful lavender and white petunias. They are breath taking.
After the dinner we watched Erik’s family
swim. They/re all fish. They played all kinds of games. We crashed in bed.
We got
up at 4:45 to head for Erik’s tri. We had
driven the route and it was a difficult one.
The bike was so steep and it was so hot.
He did very well and came in 2nd in his age group and 14th
overall. We were so proud of him. A helicopter
hovered over everything.
It was noon before he got the results and could be on the podium.
Erik took his boys swimming and we went to see Barbara again. Her brother, my cousin Delbert was there. They are children of my father’s sister, Aunt Bernice Slick.
not a good picture so I put both in
The proud Erik took us all to the Brewery for
lunch. Great sandwiches.
They went to the Dinosaur Museum
and we went to Neola to find a dear friend, George Glines. He has two
cabins in Alaska so he spends the summer there and we missed him. We called him after we got home and he infomed us that they were in Alaska. Sunday was a great day. We love the restored gospel of our Savior, Jesus Christ and the wonderful plan of salvation. We are so blessed to have it at our fingertips and know of the blessings we receive if we but follow the doctrine of Christ.
Tuesday we got ready for Kristin's to come. Tiffani sent pictures of their trip in Maine and New York etc. they are having way too much fun. We went to Nixon's last T-Ball game. He is so much fun to watch.
Kristin made the first flight easily but it was very iffy for the lasts one. They finally made it in at 1:00 the next day. June was a wonderful month and we are so glad to have David, Kristin and kids in our home. We are so grateful for our family and the way they are constantly striving to live up to the covenants they have made in the temple of our God.
