Well, August was spent in the garden for the first three days. On Sunday, we took three boxes to church and set them in the hall by the Sunday School class for the members to choose what they wanted. It was so much fun to watch them enjoy the fresh food.
The next day was more in the garden. It is so beautiful.
Always Tuesday at the temple and then Wednesday was a visit to Dr. Healey. He had me tested and found I had COVID. So fun. I went right home and collapsed in our TV room to spend the next eight days. I had no idea how painful COVID is. I was so glad to have the Olympics to watch.
On the 10th, Dave Freeman, a long time friend, brought another book he had written about his life. He has a chapter about our family and has had this one published for sale. He had to give it to me on the doorstep because of my COVID. He has a great picture of my Dad’s red Buick convertible in it.
He loved this car and drove my friends to the football games. He put the top down so we could sit on the back and cheer as we drove through Dayton, Ohio where I went to high school.
Tuesday I felt good enough to go to the temple and again on Thursday. I slept after both times. The next few days I was able to watch the twins play volleyball and Baylie play tennis on our big TV. I love that we get to do this from so far away. Jalen's cross country meets are too hard to stream, so we just get videos and pictures afterwards. We love our grandchildren and feel closer to them this way.
We take long naps every day and Dad continues to clean, cook, and work in our garden. He does this alone because I can’t do it any more. He never complains and does so much for me. I certainly got a good one.
Thursday, the 22nd, Nixon turned 14. He is a great kid and loves basketball, soccer, his family, with the dogs and all the chickens. He is a good student and very active. He is taller than his mother.
When we got home, we noticed that a can of stain had exploded and ran down the side of Dad’s truck. We panicked and called Scott and he told us to call Clint. He told us to go right down to a special car wash and they could help us. Thank goodness he did.
The 28th, Erik turned 49. Amazing! He and Shanelle have four wonderful boys who are so thoughtful and kind to us. Asher is the only one left to help in mowing our lawns and we love that they come every Saturday. They are a very fun loving family led by wonderful parents.
I don’t know why we finally cleaned our garage, but it was overflowing with things we have no use for. It took us all day, but the results were so worth it. We gave away six air mattresses, many fishing supplies, camping chairs, water toys, and just stuff we don’t need.
That same day was my brother’s wife, Brigetta’s birthday. She is a sweetheart and we love her.
Friday Tiffani and her family came to go to a BYU football game. It’s always fun when they come. She comes like a whirlwind and leaves the same. They also bring Titan, their dog. What fun.

These are Dave's relatives. They are a riot, and Carl does a fabulous tailgate. |

We all enjoyed the food and the company |
This is a very short writing about August, but it has been a very hard month and yet a very wonderful one.
I am including some of these pictures that Hailey painted on the back of folding chairs. She definitely has talent.
We love our family with all the ups and downs and wonder how the time goes by so fast, but all is well.
Our missionaries are doing well and working hard to take the true message of our Savior Jesus Christ to share with others. How we love them.
Cameron is loving his service living at home. (and attending games) see picture in blog.
Camden is working so hard and loving the people in Poland. He is very humble and sends very inspired letters. He takes pictures of others and the buildings and we love both. Our young men are amazing.
We are not the only ones with flooding. There has been flooding in Poland as well.
