We started this year off still in the Pandemic but hope to control it in 2021. the kids all had a fun time but we just watched football and started a new puzzle.
Kristin and David's Clark and Dianne's The Tiff and Dave Jennings Twins Erik and Shanelle's Scott and Bethany's
We love these families and the joy they bring us. We are so blessed that they are healthy, hard workers, and just good people. they love the Lord and teach our grandchildren to love the Lord. Some are missing from the pictures, especially dogs. Parker is in Japan serving a mission. The others are elsewhere.
We worked on a puzzle of the United States of America, which we love, with some of the temples on it.
The next day Lyman's granddaughter came to stay with us for a month while she waited to get into her apartment. She is a sweetie and recently returned from her mission in Iowa.
Emie CameronMisty, her mother, Jean, her Gran, and Alisha, her Aunt, came to visit and have fun.
Monday we started taking down the Christmas decorations. It lasted for 4 and even 5 days. Scott will come and put the box the tree is in up, change a light bulb, replace a battery in one of our room cameras, and open our quilt trunks so I can see what we have and what more I need to make. While he does that Bethany will again show us how to get on Netflix. We don't know what we would do if we didn't have these 3 sons around here.
Scott, Beth and Rowan came for several hours on Thursday and did all the doings we needed done. They really got us organized in the fruit room. They opened my quilt trunks and Bethany took pictures of the ones I had done and wrote it all down. They were just fun to have around. Rowan cheerfully entertained herself. We didn't even know she was there. Really!
We had taken down all the decorations but I could not find my Delft pieces. They are very special and I put them away in the same place each year. (for 25 years) I searched every crook and cranny and took everything our of the drawer I usually put them. Dad even searched. What do you do when you have a problem? You go to the Our Heavenly Father. He always answers but not always the answer you want. I was afraid I had thrown them away with some of the wrappings I use. I told the Lord I knew it was my fault but if at all possible could He help me find them? Well impatient me wanted to find them right away. I decided that I must have put them in one of the tubbys as I put out our decorations so they would be there when next Christmas came. A few days went by and we realized we had not put our Christmas drinking pieces away. We got out the big box in the pantry and when I opened it-----there were the missing pieces. I know this is a little thing but it certainly increased my testimony on the power of prayer. I am so grateful for a Heavenly Father who knows us individually and knows our needs and feelings. I love that I can go to Him anywhere and any place with anything and He will comfort me and help me with my needs and questions. We love this restored gospel of our Savior so much and love that we are an eternal family. We can't imagine eternity with out any of our family. We just need to live to be worthy of this eternal blessing. The best thing happened on the 15th. Little Beatrice Johns was born. She weighed in at 9.8. Her cheeks just puff out and she is so beautiful.
Saturday I wrote stories about my parents when they were young because Ava needed them for a school project. It was really fun to research this and find some things I didn't know. Her brothers think she is the best thing ever and are so cute with her. I don't know when we will be able to see her in person but she certainly shines on the pictures sent.
The final project
Tuesday the 19th was special because Jalen turned 11. He is such a special boy and so gifted in many ways. He has a natural love for music and can make dance moves that we could never make. That boy has rhythm. He loves his family, especially Tashi. He loves his Father in Heaven and tries so hard to please him and do the right things. He has a very tender heart. He and his Granddad are best buds. He made the Honor Roll at school last term and we are so proud of him. We're proud of him anyway. We are so blessed to have him forever.
The next day was our new grandmother, Dianne's birthday. We won't say her age but she is just beautiful in every way, We are so blessed that she loves working in the birthing center. She was such a help to Ashley a few days ago. She can cook anything and loves to serve others in such a loving way. She is a woman who relies on her Father in Heaven to guide and inspire her in all she does. Clark knew what he was doing when he went after her. We love that whole family.
The next day, January 21st, was my birthday. January is just full of birthdays. We love that. It was also my father's birthday. I turned a very young 77. My lovely daughters sent me a spy kit so I could better spy on our neighbors. Our neighbors entertain us in very unusual ways. (fire engines, ambulances, police cars, etc.)
January 23rd we went to Payson to learn how to do my next quilt. I have finished 10 now; only 8 to go. I bought the kit at a quilting shop there. We love the oldness of Payson. The man there was so helpful and patient. Granddad came with me because he remembers better than me and already he has been such a good help.
Sunday was amazing. It was on line and Eli Brown was the speaker, giving his farewell before heading to Bismarck, North Dakota. His call is to South Africa, Johannesburg, but he is waiting for his visa to clear before going. It was 32 degrees below 0 at the time and Africa is an average of 86. He will be happy to be warm, hopefully soon. His talk was so good and so filled with the Spirit. He is so handsome and must be around 6'4". He was student body president for Provo High his senior year and so liked by everyone. I remember when I read to him before school when he was in first grade. He worked hard to get where he is.
Thursday, January 28th, Aunt Mikki had a birthday. I'm not sure but maybe 81or 2. What a great lady. she blesses so many in our families. She is George's older sister and is so good and kind.
Emie's boy friend, Tyler, hooked up my ear buds that Dad gave me for my birthday. Amazing!
Today we also got a new washer and dryer delivered. I can even operate them from my phone. Good luck to that. It will never happen. Ours were on their last leg as well as every other appliance we have.
Sunday, the 31st, Clark's family celebrated Ashley's birthday and invited us to join them for dinner. We were nervous to go because of the Covid but they really wanted us. We especially wanted to see baby Beatrice. She is so beautiful. It was so good to be with family and the whole family was there. Of course we only took pictures of Bea. It was a wonderful evening. The birthday girl
We have been so blessed this January especially with our family in good health. This has been a hard time but we know where to find peace and comfort. Following our Savior is the ONLY way to complete happiness. We are so filled with joy and happiness to have this restored gospel of Jesus Christ in our daily lives. There is no other way. Our Prophet, Russell M. Nelson, constantly reminds us of the peace only the savior can bring. We again are so blessed with the family we were born into and the family we are making. Christ will prevail and win. Lets always strive to be on the winning team.
