JUNE IS BUSTIN' OUT ALL OVER (FROM THE MUSICAL CAROUSEL)

We didn't think June 1st would ever get here.  Dad had purchased tickets for Jane Eyre at the Hale Theater staring Dallyn Bayles. .  It was just an incredible evening. It far exceeded our expectations.  The female lead was a student at Timpview High.
Tuesday we went to get our meds.  Mom hasn’t filled a prescription since before our mission.  It took several days to finally get it.  When the pharmacist told us the price, $235.00, Dad refused it.  She said it was a good thing because she wouldn’t have given it to us anyway.  She said the ointment (It was for a spider bite.) was only $14.00.  She took care of everything and called Dr. Taylor, etc.  When we went the next day the bill was only $8.00.  I can’t believe one thing could be so many prices.  Glad we use Costco.

June Fird will always be that.  It is Parker’s birthday.
Comandaunt in Fidler
We spent the day fishing and swimming with our boat;

more swimming than fishing.  Didn’t catch anything but surely did have a lot of fun.

Dad even let Parker drive.

I haven’t done that yet.  We ate lunch on the boat.  Asher couldn’t quit giggling.  After we got the boat out of the water, Shanelle let Parker drive the van.  He needs lots of practice.  We were laughing our heads off when we weren’t gasping.  After that we went to Dairy Keen for milk shakes.  They were yummy.  Parker is a young man we love to be around.  He loves doing things with his family and Shanelle make sure things happen.  He is very good at memorizing the scriptures and knows them better than we do.  He is going on a 50 mile trek with his parent, Kolton, and the stake this summer.  We surely do love that young man.
June 4th, Lucille Rawcliff turned 95.  What a great lady.  She is so appreciative of anything you do for her.  After we went to her home and sang Happy Birthday, we decided to go to the Provo Farmers' Maket.  We were happy to run into Fidel and his family.
June 6th was Flag Day. We love the red, white and blue.  We  have been taught since young’uns to respect (Dad said, “We have been taught since we was knee high to a short sheep”) honor and reverence this flag of our great country.  We love the United States of America.  It is indeed a choice and we must do all we can to preserve it.  God bless America.  Erik and family came to mow the lawns (All except Camden who was at 5th grade camp.), and Scott and family came to redo the caulking on all of our windows.  We are getting new plantations shades and the window caulking was very messy.  We had a great taco dinner together.  Boy, can those boys eat.
 the young'uns ate outside

Kathleen Holbrook came to visit the 9th.  It had been a long time and we spent awhile catching up.  She is a great lady and was so fun when we taught together.
That evening Terri Jensen took me to the American Fork hospital to visit a sister who had a double mastectomy.  All she wanted was a milk shake.  She has such a great attitude and they couldn’t even get it all.  She has a T-shirt that printed on it says, “Yes these are fake.  The real one tried to kill me!”  She is he one who visits every sick person in the ward.

June 10th  YEAH!  Lily’s birthday.  What a special young lady she is.
She is always looking for a child to help.  She loves her family and is so fun to be around.  It is just hard for us to realize she has grown up right before our eyes.  She is kind and loving and does very well in school.  She will be in the middle school next year and will love it.  The teachers will love her.  She is blessed to be in the family she has and we love  her so much.

June 12th we flew out of the SLC airport with Kolton and Molly, on Jet Blue headed for Long Beach Calif.

A shuttle took us to our hotel, Desert Palms, in Anaheim.  At almost the same time Tiffani showed up with Cameron and the twins.
We went to Down Town Disney to bum around
and ate at the ESPN Zone so Kolton could watch soccer.  The food is always good there.

all

 Cameron ate it all

huge bite
After we ate we all went back to the hotel and Tiff and the girls left to do their own adventure (Harry Potter World) and we kept Cameron for our fun days ahead.  We had a great room with two divisions and a TV in each room.

 our rooms

Kolton insisted we watch soccer of course.  When he got tired he turned if off and we all went to bed.  What a riot he is.  Cameron did watch a bit of the Dodgers.
The next day was Magic Kingdom.
 first day

Kolton said we absolutely had to go to the Jungle Ride first because that’s what his family does.  We had such a short line and enjoyed the ride thoroughly.
Our guide was the best, even new jokes.  Cameron and I climbed the Tarzan Tree House while the others went on the Indiana Jones ride.  I forgot how many stairs you had to climb but had a great time with Cameron.  Molly and Kolton went on the log ride but I can’t remember when.
Cameron loved waiting for them and watching everyone get wet.  We all love Thunder Mountain.
I might as well mention now that I cannot remember what we did or when but this will just be a sample of stuff.  When I got home it became very fuzzy.  Shocker!  The best thing about the entire Disney was that it was perfect weather.  60’s and 70’s all the time and even jackets in the evenings.  Cameron never wore a jacket but we were chilly.  Even better was that we never had to wait in a line with the passes we had; maybe 15 minutes a few times.
We then did the cars and Buzz Lightyear.  I creamed everyone on that one.
Kolton and Molly needed a little care.
Then we made the mistake of having those three, sweet, adorable grandchildren talk us into going on the Space Mountain ride.  I didn’t know it was a roller coaster in the dark.  Zowee!  Dad’s pacemaker went crazy and I screamed so hard I got a sore throat.  We’ll know better net time.  Dad really had a hard time getting his heart to beat right after that so we were really worried.  We’ll never go on that thing again.  The sign said not to if you have a heart situation.  Oh well, live and learn.  We had corn dogs for lunch, $62.  Worth every bite.  Someone, we won’t say who picked the outside off.

Have no idea where this is.
Can’t remember where we ate dinner.  That night we watched the Disneyland light parade.  It was amazing.  It’s a must see thing.  We waited for the fire works but they did not do them due to the wind.  We were sad so we went on some small rides in Fantasy land.  Dad was happy to get to the hotel and rest his heart.
The next day was California Adventure.  We went straight to Radiator Springs.  What a great place.  The scenery is so real looking.

We even tipped a few tractors.
We love Flo’s Café but Kolton knew of a great Mexican place so we ate there.  I must say it was very good.  I took Cameroon for a walk to find a hamburger.  He surely does love them.  We were all so tired it was just nice to sit in the shade, eat and rest.  Molly and Kolton went on Screamin’.  We knew better.  Cameron was so fascinated with watching the ride take off that he laid right down and took a short nap.
We think you have to be kinda crazy to go on that ride and Molly and Kolton fit that description perfectly. They even went on the Ferris wheel which Kolton wasn’t crazy about but Molly had never been on one so he went with her.

What a good cousin.  After that they all went on a crazy ride where you sit on a swing and it goes around and around up in the sky.  We went on another shooting ride where Cameron creamed us all.  We went to a place where they showed different Star Wars things.  Dad, Cameron and I liked the live models.

We were so tired we left the park and got Subways and Cameron got a pizza.  I was still too shook up to eat.  What a great day.  These grands were so much fun but we outlasted them.  We again watched soccer.  Dad was asleep very early and I was right behind him.
The last day Kolton talked Molly into getting up early to go into the park at 7.  They had their breakfast and left.  We met them at the park to find out it wasn’t an early day.  Poor Molly.  That girl needs her sleep.  They had gotten several fast passes and tickets to the World of Color water show.  We met them between the parks to get our tickets.  We went back to Magic Kingdom and repeated rides and just had fun.
Star Tours
We decided on a pineapple treat and the bird show when Kolton realized he no longer had the lanyard with all our passes and tickets.  He still had them because he would go get our fast passes and make the park so much easier.  He’s a trooper.  We checked and checked and realized when he took off his sweat shirt the passes came off.  Anyone can make that mistake, but he was so upset and apologized often.  It was just an accident.  A helper told us to go to the Guest Services Desk, so we did.  They were so understanding and helpful and after about an hour we had all our passes and tickets.   We just had to go to California Adv. to pick up the tickets for the water show.  No problem.  We were having way too much fun to be disturbed.

These pictures show how we mainly saw them.

We continued on with the day and rode more rides. (Dad and I did not go on Space Mountain.  The others loved it.) We just did whatever we wanted and had a grand time.  They are so good together and were so fun.  They’re a great trio.
Every time we passed a gift shop Cameron was in.  He loved to just walk through them.  Dad was in heaven to have someone to shop with.

The boys loved Little Mermaid.
We went back over to Calif. Adv. for the light show and then ran back to Magic Kingdom for the fire works. It’s amazing how they light up the shops with pictures and at the end make it snow.

Focused
We had told Kolton earlier that we could not go on the Small World because of the time and just waited until the end when he found we were in the line.  It was all worth it to see the happy look on his face.  His family always does that ride last and it meant so much to him.  The trip was now complete.  What a guy.  We were so tired we headed to Subway and pizza again and fell in bed at the hotel.
Everyone slept in as long as they wanted we were so tired.  After a good breakfast we packed up to go home.  Of course Molly already had everything in order and was ready.  She kept all her things so neat the entire time. She was my only ally.
Not so with the boys.  Each one had a little nook with just their things in it.  We caught our shuttle and headed to the airport.  Jet Blue told us that they had sent a notice to Tiffani that Cameron’s plane had been delayed several hours.  We had paid for personal service for him but they said they had no such policy,  Well, you don’t just leave a 13 year old in an airport by himself.  After a very long wait they got him on a flight with us to SLC.  It was the last seat.  Tifani was furious.  So were we.  Cameron was fine.
Waiting
It’s a good thing we didn’t leave him alone because he left his luggage in security and was very worried.  We got it and headed to our gate.
All ended well. No way could it have been better.  Those 3 kids just melted together and we enjoyed being with them.  It was fun watching them choose gifts for their family members.  They showed much love for each other and their families.  It was just a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious time.
Kristin had flown in with Baylie and Jalen earlier so they met us at the gate.  They are visiting for 5 weeks.  Yeah!  Dianne picked up Molly (So hard to let her go; such an enjoyable traveler and person to be with.)  Erik picked us Kolton, mom, Kristin, and kids.  Dad stayed at the airport with Cameron who left much later.  He was so glad he stayed with him.  They had a special time.  At 10:00 he called to ask me where we had parked the truck.  Thank goodness that for some reason I had remembered.  He got home after midnight and fell into bed.  What an amazing, wonderful, no problems trip.  How we love being with our grands in such a private situation.  Hope the next 10 will be even half as good causing it to be perfect.  Get ready Lily and Camden.

Don't know why Kristin and the kids don't use the upstairs bedroom too but this is how they sleep.

We got up Friday and headed for the Payson Temple and Kelly and Christy's daughter's wedding.  It was just perfect.  The part I liked most was when the sealer said that their future children may very well be right in the room watching.  It gave me chills.  After the wedding we went to La Jolla Groves for a luncheon in the Riverwoods.

The kids

We have no idea when this happened and can't find it in our journals but we went to a soccer game for Ava and then had snow cones after.  Ava won by a landslide and we had so much fun.

We also went to Nixon's karate advancement ceremony.  He got his orange belt.

That evening we met Erik’s and with Kristin’s went to the Strawberry Days Rodeo.  It was better than ever.  Jalen and Asher even entered the pull the money off the bulls.
We laughed our heads off.  The best thing is the cup of strawberries and cream.

Kristin went to Logan for a reunion and we went to PG for the parade.  It is a family tradition.  I still didn’t feel very well but we love watching the grand kids.  They were in it for the candy.  We sit in Erik’s front yard so it is really nice.  I thought I had taken pictures of all the kids and when I got home to do the blog realized the picture I took of Ava was not Ava.
 Dad, Scott, Beth
 Nixon, Asher, Camden
 Shanelle

Parker, Kolton
Fathers’ Day was a great Sunday in that Jalen and Baylie were able to sing with the Primary children.  Granddad loved it.  Shanelle had called at the last minute and we joined them at Nun’s Park for a cookout.  We had foil dinners and Dutch oven cobblers.
It was such a fun relaxing evening by the river.  It was 10:00 before we headed home.  We’ve got to do that more often.

June 25th Scott and Beth wanted to go have a time together so we had Nixon and Ava.  It was so much fun for Baylie and Jalen.

 Jalen loves to help Granddad.

Sometime in here or in July we went to see Finding Dory

Monday we took Lucille to the doctor and then headed to Deer Creek to meet the families for a fun time.  We took our boat and Clark took his long boards and Erik had a rubber boat.  When Dad took them out in the boat they just wanted to go faster and faster.  It was so fun to once again be together.  Even Ashley and William were there.  He gets cuter if that's possible every time we see him.  It was forecast to be thunder and lightening but it was a beautiful day.  When we were almost home the storms began.

We love it when we have family around, especially the grandchildren.  They are happy, friendly and get along so well.  We are indeed blessed.
