I lost another pair of glasses but found them after Elder Bayles stepped on them. Thank goodness Wal Mart fixes glasses. It's amazing.
We took the Elders to lunch for Elder Bayles' birthday. The Silkers came too. We love our district and the hard work they do.

Wednesday we helped take the food order to Hyrum's family and to Mary Clark, a sweet lady in our home evening group. We love her so much. The church welfare program is such a wonderful way to help people. It is such an inspired program. We went to visit the Nobles and see how they were doing. They never come to church but the church provided the meal and cleaned their home when her step-father died. When we got ready to go she asked if we could take her mother home. As it turned out it took us over an hour and a half to get her home and return to our home. She lives in Turtle Town, Georgia.

I went to a Women's Christian Luncheon with a sister from the branch. I am so grateful for the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It provides such direction and peace. I love it.
We met with a girl the missionaries had baptized who is having a hard time keeping her commitments. She is trying so hard. We will help her all we can. She is a wonderful girl.
We left there to visit with a couple whose son swims for BYU but they are not members. We love going there because they are so fun and ask such good questions about the church. They're the ones who live on 200 acres in the mountains. We love the opportunity to explain things to them. They live the gospel; we just need to get them baptized. We got home at 8:30.

We have now been out 10 months. The first part was so slow but it is now flying by.
Elder and Sister Silker met us in Hayesville so Elder Silker could interview the boys for baptism. He took such a long time with the first one and I was getting so nervous thinking we had not done a good job teaching. When it was over and we were talking he said it was so enjoyable and such fine young boys that he lost track of the time. We left to buy some ice cream and came back for the boy's birthday party. They even invited us to dinner. That was really big in that they wouldn't even let us in the house when we first started teaching them. Dinner was a bit late so we didn't get home until 9:00. We stayed up until 11 making the program for the baptism. (yes Kristin, we know you could do it faster) Boy do I have trouble with the computer stuff.

| Another place where they gathered. This court house is there now. It is in Hayesville which is in our area. |
These are some signs on a closed antique store window by the courthouse. Sorry about the glare.
Elder Bayles turned 68 on Sunday. I am so grateful he is in such good health. We have had 46 wonderful years together and I'm asking for many more. He is such a spiritual guide for me. I love him.
We were excited when we got to church and found our little baptism girl at church with her mother. Last week she came with a neighbor. Her mother is a member but hasn't been to church for years. She was so surprised that we now have a chapel. She is coming to Relief Society Tuesday while her daughter and the two boys have a lesson with Elder Bayles. The boy's mother is coming too. YaHoo! We are so thrilled with the progress these families are making.
After having dinner with a wonderful couple we headed home. How great it was to have the phone ring and Erik's family wanting to face-time. While talking, Clark's family called. We held the two phones together and the kids could see each other. What fun. We told Erik we would call him back. Clark's family was great. They are just getting too grown up. Lily had brown hair. I loved her eye patch. It's really classy. We called Erik back and while talking to him Tiffani's family called. Erik's boys are a riot on the phone. They just make faces at each other and are so fun. We then called Tiff back and Lauryn talked while making a double chocolate cake. She had more chocolate on her face than in the bowl. Clara played a song on the guitar and sang it with her dad. I hope Tiffani puts the recording on her blog. Grandad thought Clara looked like Mary from Peter, Paul and Mary, with her long hair. The music was great even though her dad sang with her. (What a great daddy-daughter thing to do. Do it more often.) Cameron wanted to know if we had watched the BYU game. While talking to them a member from the Caswell ward called and wished Happy Birthday. How nice that they remembered. While talking to her, Scott called. Ava sang Happy Birthday and The Foolish Man and a Halloween song about a spider. It was so fun because we got to see Nixon walk all over the place.

Kristin's family had called before we even went to church and sang to Granddad. How could he have had a better birthday than to talk to everyone of his family, It certainly doesn't get better than that. We're so grateful to a loving Father in Heaven that FAMILIES ARE FOREVER. We love ya'all.
Some scenes we see on our way to lessons:
