LETS HAVE A GREEN LIGHT ON COVID19

This is our Christmas wreath from Bert, a huge Valentine in it for February and now a March kite.
March is always a good month because there is a hint of Spring.  Dad and I have been indexing for the ward for just 10 names each but of course Dad did way more.  I worked on my quilt and Dad did some beautiful carving.  We picked up some rings and watches that our jeweler had been working on.  Monday is especially fun when it is the first day on the month.

That evening, March 2nd, we watched Molly's last game.  They lost and we feel it was because the coach didn't play Molly the entire second half.  While she was playing the whole first half they were always ahead.  We were on the other teams' side and the parents of their best player turned and told us to tell our coach thanks for not playing Molly because their daughter was so psyched out because she couldn't focus if Molly was guarding her.  The last time they played their daughter who usually scored 22 points was stopped by Molly and scored only 2 points.  Sometimes we just don't understand coaches.  We are so proud of Molly because she has such a positive attitude about everything.  She was so disappointed and didn't understand but reported that she loved the sport and the wonderful girls she played with.  I may have used this picture before but I love it and her.

Wednesday: It's been 2 weeks since my fall and we walked 2 miles.  Felt good.

As usual, I forgot to take a picture when we got our shots so I am sending one of Kristin getting hers.

Thursday, the 4th, I finished the top and bottom of the quilt.  We are so thankful for good days and the restored gospel of our savior, Jesus Christ.

Dad has been working on carving some little men to put on canes while I work on my quilt and I took a picture of some of them. He is really getting quite skilled at this art and loves doing it.

Saturday morning, the 6th, we braved the cold and went to Nixon's soccer game.  He is a good soccer player and it was fun to be outside and cheer him on.

Sunday was a very special day because we went to Centerville for baby Beatrice's name and blessing.  Her daddy did a fine job and all Clark's children were there.  Tyler's parents and a brother and sister were there also.  We loved that Dad was asked to be in the blessing circle.  It was a great day, filled with many blessings.  Ashley had a marvelous luncheon for us and we just had a great time visiting with family.  Riley had a girlfriend whom we really liked, Baylie Savage. (didn't ask the spelling)  We are so thankful for priesthood blessings.

Notice the beautiful dress Dianne made.
                                                                  some of the group
                                                                           lunch with Lily
                                                                       the Bayles crew
                                                                      great blessings

                                                       No change with our neighbors.
We have made hotel reservations for Disneyland for July.  No idea what will happen with this pandemic.  We have 6 grandchildren who are on the list and anxious because it was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.  Because of our age 2 of our sons are going to help out.

Monday the 15th, Ava and Nixon came to help us with anything we needed.  They wanted to earn money to pay for some shoes they bought.  They worked so hard and did such a good job.  Rowan worked very hard playing with Disney figures.  When they finished they walked down to Scott Cherry's mother's home where Scott was painting and Beth was helping.  We had so much fun for a few hours.  No, I did not think to take pictures so I took these later.  We are so grateful for grandchildren.

I don't know how they do this but I love it.

Wednesday, St. Patrick's Day, Tiffani and Camden stopped by on their way to visit UVU and then met us at Wal Mart to say good by as they headed to Logan to visit Utah State.  They flew in and out the same day.  Cameron loved the car they rented.

Dad helped Brother Bush get into his home after a 3 day stay at the hospital.  Carma was worried that she might need help and dad was happy to be there.

Thursday, the 18th, we delivered Primroses to our ministering families.  We do it together and have 7 homes we visit.  Because of the Covid 19 we do not go inside but we love visiting and knowing they are well.

We are facilitators in the Emotional Resilience program the church has for helping people in self-reliance.  It is all done on line but Dad does an excellent job of taking the lead and following the program.  We love our group and they are very involved so it makes it so fun.

The 19th was Simon Robert Johns #3 birthday.  What a fun and loving little boy.  He has a smile a mile long and loves doing most everything.  He keeps his mother, Ashley, very busy along with Will and new sister, Beatrice.  We just love seeing him grow and be such an amazing boy.  He is so taken by his new little sister and just can't get enough of her.

Sunday, Scott and Beth had us over for a yummy tri-tip dinner.  We love being with family.  Clark and Di also invited us but Scott was first.  We feel so important!  I just need to earn to take more pictures.

Tuesday we started our 2 mile walking again.  After our walk we went to pick up George's new travel C-Pap.  It is wonderful and can fit in his carry-on.  We are excited to go to Kristin's in a few weeks.

March 24th was a big day because Cameron turned the big 18.  He is such a wonderful grandson and so BYU.  We just have too much fun with him,  He is a straight A student and will going on a scholarship to Utah State.  He is scared and excited at the same time.  I think Tiffani is having a harder time having the first one leave home.  He's only 2 hours from us so he will be just fine.  He is a good boy and loves his family and Savior so all will be well.

For 3 days we have been working on a petition because we are meeting with a group at the Mayor's office to see what can be done with the drug house across the street.  It has just been getting worse for 5 years now and people are tired of it.  The police are wonderful and do so much but it isn't working.  They get put in jail and are out in hours because they pay the fees.  We don't like to feel the way we do but then again we don't feel real safe.
Today Tiffani and Dave got to see the girls play volleyball in person for the first time.  Tiff kept sending us Marco Polo snips and we loved it.  They play on a club team in Vegas.

The 26th I had an appointment with a cardiologist and go on a tilt table.  Don't know what that it supposed to show but it was weird.  My blood pressure is way low and they are trying to find out why.  I am dizzy most of the time but that's no shocker.  90/47
We are so thankful that we can have church at home every other week.  With just the two of us it is very special and sacred.  We love to go in person but in our own home is also special.

Monday, the 29th we met with a group of neighbors to see what can be done with the home across the street.  It has been 5 years that we have been fighting this and no results.  This time we had a petition and pages of  signatures people all over Grandview Hill who signed this petition we have been circulating around.  No one refused to sign.  Several friends passed the petitions around.  This time Mayor Kafusi had a lot of people there who heard us and are going to try many things to help this issue.  People are living in homemade pallet sheds and using electric cords to have electricity.  What a fire hazard. There are many other safety and health issues that are going to be addressed.  It was nice to have so many different people there to know what is going on.  Yes, they will get everything in the car.

The last day of this month, Lily called and asked if we could take her to Jonny's Jr. high track meet.  We were excited to be able to do this.  It was a cold day but we bundled up and had a great time being outside.  Jonny did very well on the high jump.  Clark met us there and we enjoyed our time together.

Dad got tired of having to wear suspenders so he put on a smaller size Levi (32) and his belt went around his waist one and a half times.  He put mine on and it went in the second hole.  Humiliating.

This month went by way too fast but we enjoyed it.  We are anxiously waiting for April conference and hearing our Prophet, Russell M. Nelson give us the messages we need to hear.  We love him and know that he gets direct revelation from our Father in Heaven to instruct us of what we need to do at this time. We are so blessed to have a prophet on the earth today and to know the Plan of Salvation and what is expected of us.  We are so thankful for our many blessings and to have the family we are blessed with.  Each one is so special to us and helps u remember to strive with all our might to follow the doctrine of Christ.  It's true and indeed families can be together for eternity.  We are trying so hard to be worthy of that great blessing.  We make mistakes but because of our Savior we can repent and do better.  How beautiful and true.  He gives us peace.

LOVE ONE ANOTHER

This dog has brought so much fun to the Jennings family.  He is spoiled rotten and we all love him.  Thought this was a good Valentine picture showing love.

This month is a good one because it is all about love and being kind to one another.  It started with Emie going to Wendover to pick up her brother Conner who had been doing his MTC on line at their grandparents home in Elko, Nevada, and bring him here.

They left the next morning for the SLC Airport so he could go to his mission in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was on fire and so excited to go.  They are just good children of Misty and Cameron.  She is now in her own apartment.

I finally got a picture of Eli Brown who gave his farewell last month.  I wanted a picture so I would always remember him and the wonderful spirit he carries wherever he goes.

The next day, Wednesday the 3rd, we went to Spanish Fork to get our immunizations against Covid 19.  It was so easy, fast and painless.  The best part was that we were right next to Ruth and Max Seamons whom we had served with in Palmyra.  We will see them again on the 24th for our booster shots.  Hopefully I will remember to take pictures.

We have been called to be the facilitators on the Emotional Self Reliance program for our Stake.  We are very nervous and excited at the same time.  It is all on line so it is very different and hard to really feel the people.  We will improve as time goes by.  We meet for 1and 1/2 hours every Thursday evening.

Sunday, the 7th, we took dinner to our neighbors, the Richards.  She has been in the hospital and is not healthy.  We were pleased to help out a little.

Tuesday the 9th was Dave Jennings birthday.  We are so glad Tiffani found this good man.  He is such a good father and husband for that family.  He is fun to be around and they do so many things together as a family.

Friday the 12th was Chinse New Year.  I love to decorate for this holiday because of Clark serving in Taiwan. Sorry about the blocks of wood.
While walking in the mall we turned a corner and this enormous painting filled the entire space.  It was so beautiful.
Tiff and family came at midnight.  We love when they visit.  Of course they brought Titan.  This is what I was awakened with:

The next morning after Ava's dance lesson, the girls gathered their things and headed for Scott's house. I love how the cousins get along so well.  The twins and Cameron have not been in a school for 11 months now and it has been very difficult not being with other teens.  Kolton had  Cameron go with him and some friends and Ava, Nixon and Rowan entertained the girls.  The girls stayed until Monday.  It is such a wonderful thing and they are so close.  Ava had a party including boys so they really had a good time.  Nothing like that happens here.  Tiff was able to visit with Clark's family intending to go to Erik and Shanelle's next but Titan and Watts decided the mud and snow was lots of fun.  She wrapped Titan in a towel and came home for a dog bath.  The tub was filled with mud but Titan had a great time with Watts.  I can't remember when but we just sat around and visited.

Valentine's Day was on a Sunday this year which is so perfect.  Our Savior preached about loving everyone and serving one another. We sent a Valentine to each family and put a $2 bill in for each one.  It's just a crazy thing but you don't see them very often.  Something to keep.

Scott and Beth had invited us to dinner which was fun.  We had a lovely meal and just had such a great visit. The cousins had their own room.
Titan and the Scott Bayles 2 dogs went crazy and  ran all over the back yard.  While we were there Erik, Shanelle and the boys came by to give Scott's family some delicious homemade cookies.  Of course the cousins visited around Erik's car for awhile in the freezing cold.  They love each other so much.  How blessed we are.  Tiffani was so happy that she got some time with Shanelle and Erik.
Monday morning Tiff left to get the girls so they could get ready to leave.  When she opened the front door there was a huge plate of Shanelle's cookies there.  I was so excited.  Shanelle should open a bakery her cookies are so good.  They're much better than Crumbl cookies and she puts tons of frosting on them.  Some time during this visit the girls got out the Karaoke machines and sang to their hearts delight.  What fun.

At 1:00 my sewing repair man came to fix both of my machines.  I am working on a black-eyed Susan quilt and I couldn't get either one to work properly.  I had 96 triangles and 96 petals on the floor and wanted to get them done.  No way.  I had to undo many of them because I couldn't get the tension right.  He fixed them and sharpened some scissors and knives.  Nothing sewn, just laid out.
Tuesday the 16th was Molly's last home game.  They presented all the seniors with many gifts and recognition. Of course she was the prettiest one.  I have no idea which game this picture is from but we watch on TV so it is always a bad picture. #23 middle one

Wednesday the 17th was Aunt Julie's (dad's baby sister) 69th birthday.  What a wonderful sister and friend.  We love her and the example she sets for our children.
In the last 2 days we have had some snow.  the first of the winter and we feel so blessed.

Friday the 19th, was a great day because we got to watch Molly play ball and Ava dance on TV because of the Covid.

We took more pictures of Ava because this is the only time we have been able to watch her.  She was in a dance competition from the NYC Dance Academy.

The best thing about today was Asher became a teenager.  He is quite the guy.  He loves everything and everybody.  He has a smile that warms your heart.  We love it when he come with his brothers to mow our lawn and does a good job.  He loves his family and his cousins.

I am so thankful for a husband who takes such good care of me.  He is very attentive to my needs and I can't imagine life without him.  This week was difficult and he was there all the time.  There are so many blessings to retirement.
Tuesday, the 23rd, we went to Molly's playoff game which they won,  It was the first time Clark and Dianne's family had been together for a long time.  What a blessing.  It was the only time this year we have been able to watch a game played inside, this year.

Wednesday we had our second Covid shot and then went to brunch with Seamons.  Again I forgot to to pictures.  We love these people so much.  We are so thankful to be able to see them in person.

Tiffani called to let us know that after an entire year the kids will be able to go to school in person next month, YEAH!  This is how Titan helps the family with scripture study.  He is so thoughtful.

February has been a great month.  We have been busy with me working on a quilt and Granddad spending hours doing genealogy for both families and finding so many who have had families already sealed but a child or two dad found that had been left out.  He is so thorough in his research and we are so anxious for the temples to open so we can actually do this important work.  We will definitely need your help.  We love our family and have great love and security in knowing you are all such good people and that you love the Lord and teach our grandchildren (perfect as they are) to pray and love the Lord.  We love you all and pray for each one of you individually every day.
